However the books seem to show him as weaker in most aspects compared to his brothers. Most older lore makes Horus seem like the greatest of all Primarchs. This allowed him to gather power in the warp, becoming a God, to one day be powerful enough to permanently defeat the chaos gods. This allowed him to gathering the power of all the sacrificed psychers and being worshipped as a God for 10k years. The Horus time-line was the only time-line where the Emperor could stay on the throne without being interrupted. All other Primarchs either converted more Primarchs to chaos than Horus (causing chaos to win), or failed totally in rebelling(not letting the Emporer be on the Golden Throne). I hope that later in the Heresy books it is revealed that the Emporer saw multiple futures where he selected different Warmasters. The Emperor's Children are cool ass chapter.
